New Year New Start

Hi All,
Wish you all a very Happy New Year.

You must have seen me over the period of last few months posting inspirational quotes from various people on both Instagram and Tumblr. I have always been inspired by beautiful sayings from my childhood days, tried to understand the context of those words and put to use in my day to day life.

I probably was in my Year 6 or 7 in school, we used to have this little autograph books for your friends to write a little something to keep as a memory as they left school. One of my favourite teacher had found a new job and she was leaving. On her last day at school, I asked her to write something for me in my book and she wrote “Try to get what you like or you will be forced to like what you get. Wish you all the best”. I was too young to understand the depth and context of it at the time and yet for some reason it got instilled in my brain permanently.
As the years rolled by, the words written by my teacher started to make sense and pushed me to follow my dreams, make my own decisions and try not settling for second best. I am sure you will agree that somethings are easier said than done and they sure are. Entering different phases of life with its own set of challenges, routines of day to day life we tend to forget what we truly like and start liking what we get.

It was few years ago that I found an interest in writing and wrote a little piece about a scenario that panned out right in front of my eyes. Since then, reading micro blogs on Facebook or small articles on websites always caught my eye and kept saying to myself that I would like to start writing too. I am just as guilty like anyone else in procrastinating things and saying to myself will do it tomorrow or perhaps do it at a different time.
This New Year I want to change that trend and truly focus on things I like and make a concentrated effort in trying to get it. Writing and travelling are two things I quite like and making it my top priorities for this year. Over the course of this year I hope to be sharing with you my thoughts, opinions and views on things that inspire me, provoke a different thought process or touched me emotionally. Not to mention some travel diaries too.

I’ve taken the leaf out of the saying “There is no better time than Now” and have revived my liking for writing with this intro blog and also glad to say that have made a start on the travelling front too with a short three day trip down to the beautiful Cornwall. So you should be seeing me writing about my trip to Cornwall shortly J
I look forward to seeing your comments on what you like and the path you have embarked on in getting it.

Once again I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope you all get what you truly like!!
Wish you all the best.
Kishore
